PEP-0274 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20155.
Target Information
Adipose tissue plays a major role in regulating physiological and pathological processes such as metabolism and immunity by producing and secreting bioactive molecules known as adipokines.
The adiponectin/ACRP30 family and its paralogs, C1q/tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1–7, are highly conserved adipokines.
Unlike adiponectin, which is expressed exclusively by differentiated adipocytes, CTRPs are expressed in a wide variety of tissues and act mainly on liver and muscle to control glucose and lipid metabolism.
Structural studies of adiponectin suggest a link between TNF and C1q-containing proteins, indicating a common ancestral innate immunity gene.
CTRP6 contains at least four glycosylation motifs, suggesting it may be highly post-translationally modified.
