Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is mesothelioma.

Target Information

Calretinin is encoded by the CALB2 gene located on chromosome 16.
It belongs to the troponin C superfamily and contains six EF-hand structural motifs.
These EF motifs enable calcium binding and are involved in calcium signaling, buffering, and modulation of neuronal excitability.
Calretinin is expressed in the mesothelium, mast cells, certain neural cells, hair follicles, and fat cells.
