Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBioH35-17.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD8 beta molecule. The CD8 beta chain associates with the CD8 alpha chain to form the CD8 alpha/beta heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and cytotoxic T cells. CD8 binds to MHC class I and plays a role in T cell development and activation.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 702 is a tandem dye excited by 405 nm (violet laser) and emits at 702 nm. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass.

Staining Panel Guidance:
When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes, mediating cell-cell interactions within the immune system. CD8 acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by APCs in the context of class I MHC molecules. The functional receptor can be an alpha homodimer or alpha/beta heterodimer. Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes CD8 beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants and a pseudogene on chromosome 2.
