For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT5 alpha is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases and form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
STAT5 alpha mediates responses to ligands such as IL2, IL3, IL7, GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin, and various growth hormones. Activation in myeloma and lymphoma associated with TEL/JAK2 fusion is independent of cell stimulus and essential for tumorigenesis.
In mouse, STAT5 alpha induces BCL2L1/BCL-X(L) expression, suggesting anti-apoptotic function. STAT5 alpha and STAT5 beta share 96% sequence similarity and are co-expressed in most tissues, with differential mRNA accumulation in muscle and mammary tissue. STAT5 alpha is involved in reproduction, lactation, immune function, and somatic growth.
