Product Specific Information

This 19.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD206, also known as macrophage mannose receptor (MMR). CD206 is expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells, as well as certain non-immune cells such as hepatic and lymphatic epithelia and kidney mesangial cells. It binds glycoproteins terminating in D-mannose, L-fucose, or N-acetylglucosamine and plays roles in antigen processing, presentation, and cell migration.

• Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells
  • Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per 100 µL test volume
  • Cell count: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Brilliant Violet™ 711 (BV711) emits at 713 nm and is designed for cytometers equipped with a violet (405 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility before use.

Staining Recommendations:

• Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) when combining polymer dye-conjugated antibodies to minimize non-specific interactions.
• Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and samples from light.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54).
• Compatibility: BV711 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.
• Excitation/Emission: 407 nm / 713 nm; Laser: Violet.

Target Information

CD206 (MSR, Mannose receptor, MRC1) is a 175 kDa transmembrane protein belonging to pattern recognition receptors. It is primarily expressed in tissue macrophages, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, and sperm cells, playing roles in innate and adaptive immune responses.

CD206 mediates recognition and uptake of macromolecules such as modified lipoproteins, AGEs, and amyloid β-protein. It is implicated in atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease development. The CD206 gene encodes class A macrophage scavenger receptors with three isoforms:

• Type 1 & 2: Functional receptors mediating endocytosis of modified LDLs
• Type 3: Non-functional, trapped in ER, may exert dominant-negative regulation on types 1 and 2

CD206 dysfunction has associations with leprosy and Gaucher’s Disease.
