Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase that belongs to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. Activation occurs upon binding of the FLT3 ligand to the extracellular domain, inducing receptor homodimerization and autophosphorylation. The activated receptor phosphorylates multiple cytoplasmic effectors involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Constitutive activation mutations are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
