26S 프로테아좀은 20S 코어와 19S 조절 복합체로 구성된 다중 촉매 단백질 분해 효소 복합체입니다.
20S 코어는 28개의 비동일 서브유닛으로 이루어진 4개의 링 구조를 가지며, 19S 조절 복합체는 ATPase 및 비-ATPase 서브유닛으로 구성됩니다.
프로테아좀은 ATP/유비퀴틴 의존적 경로를 통해 세포 내 단백질을 분해하며, 면역 프로테아좀은 MHC class I 펩타이드 가공에 필수적입니다.
PSMD2 유전자는 19S 조절 복합체의 비-ATPase 서브유닛 중 하나를 암호화하며, TNF 수용체와의 상호작용을 통해 TNF 신호전달 경로에도 관여할 수 있습니다.
또한, 염색체 1번에 관련 유사유전자가 존재합니다.
