Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

ACY1 encodes a cytosolic, homodimeric, zinc-binding enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of acylated L-amino acids to L-amino acids and an acyl group. It functions in the catabolism and salvage of acylated amino acids.
Located on chromosome 3p21.1, this gene shows reduced expression in small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). Mutations cause aminoacylase-1 deficiency, a metabolic disorder with CNS defects and increased urinary excretion of N-acetylated amino acids.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, and read-through transcription exists between ACY1 and ABHD14A. A related pseudogene is found on chromosome 18.
