Target Information
Alpha-1-B glycoprotein (A1BG) is a plasma protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily with no known biological function. It consists of a single polypeptide chain of 474 amino acids and has a molecular weight of approximately 63,000. The protein includes four glucosamine oligosaccharides and five intrachain disulfide bonds, forming five repeating structural domains. Recent findings indicate that human cysteine-rich secretory protein 3 (CRISP-3) binds to A1BG, suggesting a protective role of the A1BG–CRISP-3 complex against potentially harmful effects of free CRISP-3 in circulation.
