Target Information
Synapse-Associated Protein 102 (SAP102) is a plasma membrane-associated protein found in synaptic junctions. It contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a guanylate kinase homology (GuK) domain. SAP102 is involved in receptor and ion channel clustering, contributing to neuronal plasticity. It interacts with NMDA receptors and shaker-type potassium channels via PDZ-domain binding. Other neuronal proteins sharing the T/SXV motif, such as β1-adrenergic receptors and certain serotonin receptors, may also bind SAP102. Additionally, neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) can associate with SAP102 through PDZ–PDZ interactions.
