Description:
The R17217 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD71, a 170–180 kDa type II transmembrane protein. CD71 (Transferrin Receptor) forms homodimers on the cell surface and is essential for cellular growth. It is highly expressed in immature proliferating cells and upregulated upon antigen or mitogen stimulation of T and B cells. Expression levels vary among mouse strains.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Recommended titration for optimal performance.
Fluorochrome Information:
Alexa Fluor 700 emits at 723 nm and is excited with a red laser (633–647 nm). Recommended optical setup: 685 LP mirror and 710/20 band pass filter.

Target Information

Endosomal acidification releases iron, and the apotransferrin-receptor complex is recycled back to the surface. Transferrin receptor is vital for erythrocyte and nervous system development. Serum transferrin receptor (sTfR) serves as a marker for EPO misuse detection and anemia diagnostics in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, pregnancy, IBS, and HIV.
