Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The PCDHGC5 gene is part of the protocadherin gamma gene cluster located on chromosome 5. This cluster, along with the alpha and beta clusters, exhibits an immunoglobulin-like organization, suggesting a unique regulatory mechanism. The gamma cluster contains 22 genes divided into subfamilies A, B, and C.
Each variable region exon encodes an extracellular domain with six cadherin ectodomains and a transmembrane region, followed by constant region exons encoding a shared cytoplasmic region. These neural cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins are believed to play crucial roles in establishing and maintaining specific neuronal connections in the brain. Alternative splicing has been observed within the gamma cluster genes.
