For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The PCDHGC5 gene belongs to the protocadherin gamma gene cluster, one of three related clusters located on chromosome 5. These clusters exhibit an immunoglobulin-like organization, suggesting a unique regulatory mechanism.
The gamma cluster includes 22 genes divided into three subfamilies:

• Subfamily A: 12 genes
• Subfamily B: 7 genes and 2 pseudogenes
• Subfamily C: 3 genes

Each variable region exon encodes the extracellular region with six cadherin ectodomains and a transmembrane region, while the constant region encodes a shared cytoplasmic region.
These neural cadherin-like adhesion proteins are believed to play a key role in the formation and maintenance of specific cell–cell connections in the brain.
Alternative splicing has been observed within the gamma cluster genes.
