Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of SYK only when phosphorylated at Tyr352.
Target Information
Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK), along with ZAP70, are cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases considered potential drug targets for allergic disorders and autoimmune diseases. SYK may also play a role in cancer.
Syk translocates to the plasma membrane upon B cell antigen receptor (BCR) or high-affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) triggering and phosphorylates downstream adaptor proteins, providing docking sites for initiation of signaling pathways such as calcium mobilization, cytoskeleton remodeling, and gene transcription.
Syk binds to receptor assemblies through interactions of its SH2 domains with ITAM motifs phosphorylated by Src-family kinases, which also help activate Syk by phosphorylation of its activation loop.
