The PA1-73022 antibody reacts with Salmonella species.
PA1-73022 has been successfully used in Immunofluorescence and ELISA applications.
The PA1-73022 antibody was raised against a mixture of S. enteriditis, S. typhimurium & S. heidelburg (O & H antigens).
Recommended short term storage, up to 6 months, at 4°C. For longer term storage, aliquot and freeze.

Target Information

The genus Salmonella is a member of the family Enterobacteriaceae. It is composed of Gram-negative bacilli that are facultative and flagellated (motile).
Salmonellae possess three major surface antigens:

• H (flagellar antigen): Phase 1 and 2
• O (somatic antigen): Part of the LPS moiety
• Vi (capsular antigen): Referred to as K in other Enterobacteriaceae

Salmonellae also possess the LPS endotoxin characteristic of Gram-negative bacteria. This LPS is composed of an O polysaccharide (O antigen), an R core, and the endotoxic inner Lipid A. Endotoxins evoke fever and can activate complement, kinin, and clotting factors.
