• The PA1-73030 antibody reacts with E. coli and cross-reacts with related Enterobacteriaceae.

Target Information

Escherichia coli (E. coli) are Gram-negative enteric bacteria that inhabit the human gut. Their presence in nature indicates human fecal contamination. E. coli can cause diseases such as urinary tract infections and neonatal meningitis. Certain enterotoxigenic strains may lead to severe intestinal diseases.
Serotyping distinguishes E. coli based on three antigen types:

• O antigen: Somatic antigen corresponding to terminal sugars on the cell surface lipopolysaccharide
• K antigen: Capsular antigen
• H antigen: Flagellar antigen
