Product Specific Information
MA1-062 detects recombinant human and mouse cytohesin-1 and 2 (ARNO).
MA1-062 has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence (IF), and immunoprecipitation procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~48 kDa band representing both cytohesin-1 and cytohesin-2.
In immunoprecipitation procedures, MA1-062 only precipitates cytohesin-2.
The MA1-062 immunogen is purified, His-tagged cytohesin-1.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PSCD family. Members of this family share an identical structural organization consisting of:
- N-terminal coiled-coil motif (involved in homodimerization)
- Central Sec7 domain (contains guanine-nucleotide exchange protein activity)
- C-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain (interacts with phospholipids and mediates membrane association)
These proteins regulate protein sorting and membrane trafficking.
This gene is highly expressed in natural killer and peripheral T cells and regulates integrin adhesiveness at the lymphocyte plasma membrane.
The encoded protein shows 83% homology to CYTH2.
