Product Specific Information
MA1-06305 detects K-cadherin in human and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry (paraffin).
By Western blotting, it detects a ~120 kDa protein representing K-cadherin.
The immunogen is the affinity purified extracellular domain of human cadherin-6-GST fusion protein.
Store at 4ºC or in small aliquots at -20ºC.
Target Information
Cadherins are transmembrane glycoproteins involved in Ca²⁺-dependent cell-cell interactions.
They are differentially expressed in various tissues and contribute to tissue integrity and morphogenesis.
Cadherins are divided into:
- Type I: E-cadherin (cadherin-1), N-cadherin (cadherin-2), P-cadherin (cadherin-3), R-cadherin (cadherin-4)
- Type II: K-cadherin (cadherin-6), OB-cadherin (cadherin-11)
Cadherin-6 is expressed in the proximal tubule epithelium of the kidney, from which most renal cell carcinomas are derived.
