Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
This gene encodes a member of a family of translation repressor proteins. The protein interacts directly with eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), which helps recruit 40S ribosomal subunits to the 5′ end of mRNAs. Interaction with eIF4E inhibits complex assembly and represses translation. Phosphorylation of this protein in response to signals such as UV irradiation and insulin leads to dissociation from eIF4E and activation of mRNA translation.
