This antibody reacts with GAPDHS, the sperm-specific glyceraldehyde phosphate dehydrogenase, which is an intra-acrosomal protein.
For ICC staining, membrane permeabilization with acetone is essential.
Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Glyceraldehyde 3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a metabolic enzyme involved in glycolysis, catalyzing the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate.
GAPDH is widely expressed and often used as a housekeeping control in mRNA and protein expression studies.
It interacts with various proteins, including amyloid precursor protein and Huntingtin, and has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s disease.
GAPDH also associates with actin and tubulin and may play a role in apoptosis regulation, translocating to the nucleus during apoptotic processes.
