Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD105 (Endoglin), a 90 kDa type I homodimerizing membrane glycoprotein expressed on vascular endothelial cells (small and large vessels), activated monocytes and tissue macrophages, stromal cells of certain tissues including bone marrow, pre-B lymphocytes in fetal marrow, and erythroid precursors in fetal and adult bone marrow. It is also present on syncytiotrophoblasts in the placenta throughout pregnancy.
This antibody has been successfully used in Mass Cytometry (CyTOF).
Target Information
CD105 (Endoglin) is a type I transmembrane protein highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells. It exists as an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer. Upregulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting it is a proliferation-associated endothelial marker. CD105 binds to TGF-β1 and TGF-β3 with high affinity but not to TGF-β2.
