Target Information
MARK2 is a serine/threonine protein kinase involved in the control of cell polarity and microtubule stability. Several cDNA clones have been isolated that encode two isoforms of the human ser/thr protein kinase EMK1. These isoforms differ by a 162-bp alternative exon, producing two forms—one containing and one lacking the exon. Both forms are coexpressed in various cell lines and tissues. The human EMK1 is encoded by a single mRNA ubiquitously expressed.
