Specificity: This antibody recognizes CD37, which is a cell surface protein present mostly on mature B cells and B cell malignancies.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the transmembrane 4 superfamily (tetraspanin family). These are cell-surface proteins characterized by four hydrophobic domains and are involved in signal transduction events regulating cell development, activation, growth, and motility. CD37 is a cell surface glycoprotein that complexes with integrins and other tetraspanins, and may play a role in T-cell–B-cell interactions. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
