  • In Western blot, recognizes CD204 in J774 cells under non-reducing conditions only.

Target Information

CD204 gene encodes the class A macrophage scavenger receptors, which include three isoforms (types 1, 2, and 3) generated by alternative splicing. These macrophage-specific trimeric integral membrane glycoproteins are involved in physiological and pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.
Type 1 and 2 isoforms mediate endocytosis of modified LDLs, while type 3 is trapped in the endoplasmic reticulum and inhibits the function of types 1 and 2, suggesting regulatory roles in scavenger receptor activity.
Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
