Product Specific Information

  • In Western blot, this antibody recognizes CD204 in J774 cells under non-reducing conditions only.
  • For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.

Target Information

CD204 gene encodes the class A macrophage scavenger receptors (types 1, 2, and 3), generated by alternative splicing. These trimeric membrane glycoproteins are macrophage-specific and play roles in processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.
Type 1 and 2 isoforms mediate endocytosis of modified LDLs, while type 3 lacks this function due to altered intracellular processing and can inhibit the activity of the other isoforms, suggesting a regulatory mechanism for scavenger receptor activity.
Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
