Product Specific Information

For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
Rat anti-Mouse CD204 antibody, clone 2F8 recognizes the murine scavenger receptor class A (SRA), type I and II, also known as CD204.


Target Information

CD204 gene encodes the class A macrophage scavenger receptors, which include three isoforms (1, 2, 3) generated by alternative splicing. These macrophage-specific trimeric integral membrane glycoproteins are involved in processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.

  • Isoforms type 1 and 2 mediate endocytosis of modified LDLs.
  • Isoform type 3 does not internalize modified LDL and is retained in the endoplasmic reticulum.
  • Type 3 can inhibit function of types 1 and 2, suggesting a regulatory mechanism for scavenger receptor activity.

Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
