Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-6. Anti-Rat IL-6-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-6 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat IL-6 (500-P73G) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-6.
Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-6 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-6 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein is an endogenous pyrogen that can induce fever in autoimmune diseases or infections. It is expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation and secreted into serum to induce transcriptional inflammatory responses through the IL-6 receptor alpha.
IL-6 is implicated in various inflammation-associated diseases, including diabetes mellitus susceptibility and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels are observed in viral infections such as COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). Diseases associated with IL6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
