Amino Acid Sequence of Recombinant Protein:

Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-6. Anti-Rat IL-6-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat IL-6 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-6 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat IL-6 (500-P73GBt) as the detection antibody, this allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-6.

Western Blot:
For detection of Rat IL-6 by Western blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-6 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B-cell maturation. The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen inducing fever in autoimmune diseases or infections. It is primarily expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, secreted into serum, and induces transcriptional inflammatory responses through the interleukin 6 receptor alpha. Dysregulation of IL-6 is associated with various inflammatory diseases such as diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi sarcoma, and rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels have also been observed in viral infections, including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
