- SCP2: Shorter protein functioning as an intracellular lipid transfer protein.
This gene is highly expressed in lipid metabolism-related organs and may be implicated in Zellweger syndrome, characterized by peroxisome deficiency and impaired bile acid synthesis. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
