• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
• Purified IgG fraction antibody obtained from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, ion exchange chromatography, and dialysis.
• Heated to 56°C for 30 minutes for stability.
• Recognizes both native and recombinant human IL-3 in cell supernatants and certain body fluids.
• Recommended to use similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG as a control.

Target Information

Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also known as Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils.
IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor stimulating colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic lineages.
Functions are enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines.
Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity, and bioactivity is species-specific — human IL-3 has no activity on mouse cells.
IL-3 supports proliferation of diverse hematopoietic cell types and is involved in cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. It also possesses neurotrophic activity and may be associated with neurologic disorders.
