Product Specific Information
- Antibody tested in direct ELISA.
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Fibronectin is a disulfide-bonded dimer (230–250 kDa) present in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues and vessels. It exists as an insoluble, cross-linked polymer and as a soluble plasma protein.
Fibronectin plays key roles in:
- Cell adhesion and migration (embryogenesis, wound healing)
- Blood coagulation and host defense
- Tumorigenesis and metastasis
Fibronectin expression is elevated in non-small cell lung carcinoma, enhancing tumorigenicity and resistance to apoptosis. The gene encoding Fibronectin undergoes alternative splicing, potentially producing up to 20 transcript variants.
