Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Fibronectin is a disulfide-bonded dimer with a molecular weight range of 230–250 kDa. In the extracellular matrix of connective tissues and vessels, fibronectin exists as an insoluble, cross-linked polymer. It plays a key role in embryonic development, tissue remodeling, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis.
Fibronectin is abundant in plasma as a soluble dimer and in tissues as dimeric or multimeric forms. Its expression increases in non-small cell lung carcinoma, enhancing tumorigenicity and resistance to apoptosis. The gene encoding fibronectin undergoes alternative splicing, potentially producing up to 20 transcript variants.
