Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts to the Histone H2B protein, independent of post-translational modifications, and shows no cross-reactivity with other histone proteins.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes. Nucleosomes consist of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer composed of pairs of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). These structures further compact DNA into chromatin, regulating accessibility for transcription, repair, replication, and maintaining chromosomal stability.
Histone H2B also exhibits broad antibacterial activity.
