Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts to the core histone macro-H2A.1 (Histone macroH2A1) protein, independent of post-translational modifications. No cross-reactivity with other histone proteins.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates.

Target Information
Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for nucleosome structure in eukaryotic chromatin. Two molecules of each core histone (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer around which ~146 bp of DNA is wrapped, forming nucleosomes. The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA and contributes to chromatin compaction.
This gene, located on chromosome 6, is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H4 family. Transcripts lack polyA tails and contain a palindromic termination element.
