Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Integrin beta 4 only when phosphorylated at Thr1530.
Target Information
Integrins are heterodimers composed of alpha and beta subunits that form noncovalently associated transmembrane glycoprotein receptors. Different combinations of these subunits determine ligand-binding specificity. Integrins mediate cell-matrix and cell-cell adhesion and transmit signals regulating gene expression and cell growth.
The Integrin beta 4 subunit acts as a receptor for laminins and often associates with the alpha 6 subunit, playing a key role in invasive carcinoma biology.
Mutations in this gene are linked to epidermolysis bullosa with pyloric atresia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encode distinct isoforms.
