Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of IKK alpha/beta only when phosphorylated at Ser176/180.
Target Information
IKK alpha/beta is encoded by CHUK (conserved helix-loop-helix ubiquitous kinase) and IKKB (inhibitor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells) located on chromosomes 10 and 8 in humans.
Upon stimulation by NF-κB pathway activators such as TNF-alpha, the IKK complex (IKK alpha, IKK beta, and regulator NEMO/IKK gamma) phosphorylates IkB proteins, leading to their ubiquitin-mediated degradation and NF-κB activation.
Phosphorylation at serine 176 and 180 in the activation loop induces conformational changes required for kinase activation.
