- In direct ELISAs, approximately 40% cross-reactivity with recombinant canine IL-8 is observed.
- 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant porcine IL-8 and recombinant human IL-8 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Target Information
Interleukin 8 (IL-8, CXCL8) is a 72-amino-acid pro-inflammatory chemokine belonging to the CXC subfamily. It binds to receptors IL-8RA and IL-8RB and acts as a chemoattractant and angiogenic factor.
IL-8 expression is induced by inflammatory stimuli in macrophages and endothelial cells, where it is stored in Weibel-Palade bodies.
The protein contains the ELR-motif (Glu-Leu-Arg) and signals through CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors.
Previous names include NAP-1, GCP-1, MONAP, and protein 3-10C.
IL-8 and related CXC chemokines form a gene cluster on chromosome 4q.
It plays roles in tumor angiogenesis and growth, and in inflammatory diseases such as bronchiolitis.
