• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Aurora kinases associate with microtubules during chromosome movement and segregation.
AURKB (Aurora B) localizes to microtubules near kinetochores, specifically to K-fibers.
This complex functions in chromosome alignment and separation, histone modification, and cytokinesis.

The Chromosomal Passenger Complex (CPC) includes:

• Aurora B
• INCENP
• Survivin
• Borealin

These subunits regulate Aurora B’s activity, localization, stability, and substrate specificity.
Two CPC forms exist during mitosis:

1. Full complex (AurB, INCENP, survivin, borealin) — functions in chromosome alignment and cytokinesis
2. INCENP–AurB complex — may modify histone H3

AurB is overexpressed in several tumors, including primary breast and colon cancers, and its expression correlates with Aurora-A kinase, suggesting a feedback mechanism.
