Product Specific Information

The eBioCB16 monoclonal antibody recognizes CD16 (Fc gammaRIII), a low-affinity IgG receptor (50–80 kDa). CD16 includes two genes:

• CD16A (FcγRIIIA): expressed on macrophages and NK cells, transmembrane form
• CD16B (FcγRIIIB): expressed on neutrophils, GPI-anchored form

Two polymorphisms (NA-1 and NA-2) exist in CD16B; NA-2 homozygotes show reduced phagocytic capacity. CD16 preferentially binds IgG1 and IgG3, initiating ADCC, phagocytosis, degranulation, and proliferation.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for human peripheral blood cells; use 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test.
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 723 nm; Laser: Red.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD16 encodes a receptor recognizing the Fc portion of IgG, mediating immune complex clearance and antibody-dependent cytotoxicity.

• FCGR3A: expressed on NK cells, transmembrane glycoprotein
• FCGR3B: expressed on neutrophils, PI-linked form

Mutations in FCGR3A are associated with immunodeficiency 20, recurrent viral infections, systemic lupus erythematosus, and alloimmune neonatal neutropenia.
Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
