Product Specific Information

The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells throughout development except on terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with the BCR complex. Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. The SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume, with cell numbers ranging from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Alexa Fluor® 700 emits at 723 nm and is excited with the red laser (633 nm). Recommended optical setup: 685 LP mirror and 710/20 filter.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and some myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 serves as a signal-amplifying co-receptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and regulates normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
