Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates.
Advantages include:

  • High specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulation
  • Broad immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

Mitofusin 1 (MFN1) and the related protein MFN2 are mitochondrial membrane GTPase proteins that play a central role in mitochondrial metabolism. They may be associated with obesity and apoptosis processes. MFN1 and MFN2 form complexes that regulate mitochondrial fusion and are essential for embryonic development.
When ectopically expressed, MFN1 inhibits the apoptosis-associated conformational change in Bax but not its mitochondrial translocation, indicating MFN1's role in regulating Bax activation on the outer mitochondrial membrane.
