Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody is specific towards HDAC7. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, Rat, and Primate based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with HDAC7 from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
Histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) is responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4).
Histone deacetylation serves as an epigenetic repression tag and plays a key role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events.
HDACs act via formation of large multiprotein complexes. HDAC4 is involved in muscle maturation through interaction with MEF2A, MEF2C, and MEF2D, and in MTA1-mediated epigenetic regulation of ESR1 expression in breast cancer.
Mutations in the HDAC4 gene are associated with Brachydactyly-mental retardation syndrome (BDMR).
