| Clone | M199 |
| Immunogen | Clone (M199) was generated from a phospho-EGFR (Tyr1101) synthetic peptide (coupled to KLH) corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Tyr1101 of human EGFR (ErbB-1). This human EGFR sequence has high homology to rat and mouse EGFR and is not conserved in other ErbB family members. This site is Tyr1125 in the P00533-1 version of human EGFR. |

Product Specific Information
This antibody detects a 180 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431 cells treated with EGF, and does not detect this band in control cells.
Target Information
EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that signals in response to various growth factors. Overexpression has been linked to numerous types of cancer, and EGFR is the target of both biological and small molecular therapeutics.
EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene located on chromosome 7 in humans and belongs to the HER/ERbB family of proteins (ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4).
Binding of ligands such as EGF and TGF-α to the extracellular domain leads to EGFR dimerization and autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain.
Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
Usage Note
