Product Specific Information

This antibody detects a 60 kDa protein corresponding to c-Src on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of mouse SYF cells transformed with c-Src and treated with pervanadate. It also detects the conserved site in Lck (Tyr-505) in human Jurkat cells treated with pervanadate. This antibody may recognize several c-Src family members phosphorylated at the conserved Tyr-530 site.

Target Information

SRC is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase and proto-oncogene involved in embryonic development and cell growth regulation. It associates with various cell surface receptors to facilitate signal transduction and plays roles in cytoskeletal organization, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis. The human SRC gene is located on chromosome 20. SRC activity is regulated by phosphorylation at Tyr416 (activation) and Tyr527 (inhibition). Mutations in SRC may contribute to malignant progression in colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same SRC protein have been identified.
