Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays critical roles in embryonic development, including gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, and kidney development. In adults, it contributes to wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling. Dysregulation of MET is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
