Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays roles in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and in adults (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Aberrant MET activity has been associated with various cancers including gastric, renal, and breast cancers, making it a valuable target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
