Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid; dilute only before immediate use.
This antibody is directed against the 6X His motif and detects overexpressed proteins containing the 6X His epitope tag. It reacts with all His-tagged proteins tested and does not cross-react with endogenous bacterial proteins. Recognizes His-tag fused to either the amino- or carboxy-termini of target proteins.
Target Information
The 6X His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH). Commonly expressed at N- or C-terminal regions of recombinant proteins, it enables purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC). His-tagged proteins bind strongly and selectively to Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents, facilitating purification to homogeneity. His tag-specific antibodies are valuable for detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
