Anti-ERK2 is purified from tissue culture supernatant by Protein A purification. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the ERK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAPK1 (ERK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an important activator of p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway. MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act as integration points for multiple biochemical signals and are involved in various cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. Activation of this kinase requires phosphorylation by upstream kinases, after which it translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
