Product Specific Information

The eBioRDR5 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD127 (Interleukin-7 Receptor alpha). CD127 forms a complex with CD132 (common gamma chain) to create the IL-7 receptor (IL-7R). CD127 is a type I glycoprotein (75–80 kDa) expressed on immature B cells, thymocytes, and most mature T cells, with transient down-regulation upon activation.

IL-7 binding triggers signal transduction via tyrosine kinase pathways including Jak/STAT. IL-7 is essential for lymphocyte development and peripheral T-cell homeostasis. CD127 expression is notably down-regulated on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs), making CD127 a marker for enriched Treg populations expressing Foxp3.

Binding of eBioRDR5 antibody to PBMCs is blocked by pre-incubation with recombinant human IL-7.

Target Information

CD127 (IL-7Rα) is a glycoprotein regulating lymphopoiesis. The active receptor is an alpha/gamma chain heterodimer. The gamma(c) chain activates signal transduction, while the alpha chain mediates specific signaling. CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, and mature T cells. Dysfunction is associated with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).
