Product Specific Information
The eBioMR106 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD106 (Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1, VCAM-1), a 110 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by myeloid lineage and bone marrow stromal cells. Endothelial cells constitutively express low levels of CD106 and further upregulate VCAM-1 upon cytokine stimulation.
CD106 binds to integrin α4β1 (VLA-4, CD49d/CD29) and integrin α4β7 (LPAM-1), interactions that are important for early lymphocyte and myeloid development in bone marrow and thymus. Cytokine-mediated upregulation of CD106 on endothelial cells suggests a role for this antigen in inflammatory response.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of rat bone marrow cells. Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg per test (defined as the amount of antibody staining a cell sample in a final 100 µL volume).
Cell number should be empirically determined (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
